PTA News – July 2010 Dear
Parents On the
back of this sheet you will find a summary of the PTA activities this year
and we are sure you’ll agree it’s been a very successful
year. We have welcomed a number
of new people onto the committee, which has injected new life and enthusiasm. We have
tried a few new things this time: – the Pyjama
party (a mountain of popcorn!) and having the fair in the playground with the
Mill Hill County Jazz band and a BBQ…. All to great
success. We have
found that having specific PTA members to organise
specific events takes the pressure off the whole group at once, and means
some people can get on with organising the fairs or
the discos, while others are organising the
Indulgence Evening or the Bingo evening. We would
very much like to have a volunteer to organise an
end of year Family BBQ next year – possibly a
lunchtime “Festival” on the field. Could this be you? As always
we have some parents leaving this year - Mo Jiwa,
Vaishali Mistry and Sarah
Sofroniou (although Sarah is still a governor so she can’t escape that
easily). They have all been
fantastic and we will miss them very much (only Mo knows how to pack away
everything in the shed after a fair!) Most of
all we thank all those parents who have helped in so many different
ways. None of us like going round
the playground begging for help and we really appreciate the friendly faces
who say yes! We wish
Year 6 all the best for next year, and hope everyone has a great Summer. See you in
